This is Foxhole: Dispatches from the Saaspocalypse frontlines.
I accidentally built a career that crosses the topics of marketing, advertising, rich media and technology. It's fun and interesting. And the tech sector is moving faster than ever. So I wanted to capture some of my thoughts as a passionate technologist, rich media expert, and sometime talk giver on these topics and how (/where) this whole area is evolving with AI.
I was there when we transitioned from using a courier company to ship TVCs on 1" tape reels, to the first ever deliveries via satellite. I was there when the internet got fast enough to ship TVCs and replace Dubsat.
I was a TVC producer when we stopped shooting 35mm cinema film and started using digital cinema cameras.
I started a Digital Asset Management Company (DAM) to solve the problem of storing, accessing, finding and sharing the huge volumes of media we began creating once that transition to digital data was well underway.
